Have you ever wanted to do a photoshoot in the dead of winter but didn’t want to be outside? Or absolutely love the idea of an in-home lifestyle session but don’t want to actually do the session in your home? These are a couple of reasons why a studio may be perfect for your next photoshoot! Below I’m sharing my top 3 reasons why I love working with a studio and recommend one for your next photoshoot!

UNPREDICTABLE WEATHER

This winter, in particular, seems to be even more unpredictable than usual! With the unpredictability of the weather scheduling a photoshoot can be a bit tough, especially with little ones! Thankfully with a studio session the weather is much more of a non-factor. We’re able to adjust the temperature if need be and you have a lot more freedom with your outfits! Choosing any indoor location for your session can help make sure we don’t need to reschedule due to weather.

PERFECT FOR LIFESTYLE SESSIONS

While I absolutely love in-home lifestyle sessions, I don’t want the added stress of making sure my home is ready for the photoshoot as well; Cue the studio! With the studios I typically work with they’re set up perfectly for lifestyle sessions with various pieces of furniture available to use. Between the couches, chairs, and a bed available at the studios we’ll be able to capture an array of moments between your family!

PROP/FURNITURE AVAILABILITY

As I mentioned in the last section, all of my preferred studios have a bed, couches, and chairs available in addition to a huge variety of other props that are included with your session fee! While it may seem like a studio may limit the variety of shots we’d be able to get, the opposite is actually true! With all of the props available to us, we will be able to get the same amount of images if not more as an outdoor session in the same amount of time!

BONUS: WILD WILLOW STUDIO

My current preferred studio in the Salt Lake Valley is Wild Willow Studio located in Downtown Salt Lake. They are one of the only studios in Utah to offer newborn props as part of the studio fee! They have so many little bonnets, headbands, and wraps to choose from for your precious little babe! In addition to the newborn props, they have a vintage bed, chaise lounge, a gorgeous rattan chair, and 2 color walls that are consistently changing!
