What’s in my Client Toolkit & Why I Bring it to Every Session

What the heck is a “client toolkit”?

This is something I first heard about on the Find Your Focus Podcast. I was listening to their episode on preparing for mini sessions when Logan mentioned having an “emergency kit” of sorts with things like baby wipes, bandaids, bobby pins, and tissues for your client to use. I absolutely loved this idea and instantly knew it was something I wanted to incorporate into my business!

I am a notorious over packer whenever we travel; I want to make sure I have something if I need it. I’m the exact same way with my sessions! I want my clients to have the peace of mind knowing I have something if they may need it. Your “job” when you show up to a session with me is to have fun and enjoy yourself!

Basically, my client toolkit contains almost anything you could think of that you might need while were at our session together.

Piece of hair fall out on the drive over? I have both bobby pins and hair ties.
Little Johnny trips while at our session? Bandaids and Neosporin are in the bag.
Sudden runny nose? GOOD tissues are available at the ready.
Sally is having a rough night? I have some candy to help cheer her up!

I think you get the point right?

What’s in my client toolkit?

Why do I bring it to every session?

3 words: Peace of mind.

Heaven forbid you have a wardrobe or hair malfunction during the shoot, or even worse someone needs a bandaid with none nearby!

I honestly hope I never have to pull my client toolkit out of the bag. Like I mentioned earlier, I want all of us to have the peace of mind of knowing that if something goes awry, we have a solution handy.

I’m curious, does knowing I have this with me help put your mind at ease? Send me a message on Instagram @jhphotography_ut, I’d love to hear from you!
