I’m so excited to share the second LGBTQ+ Pride session that I did in June today! I was so touched when my cousin Randi reached out to me to take her ‘coming out’ photos this year. I’m so proud of her for choosing to come out publicly, and honored that she trusts me enough to take these photos!
The Gateway LGBTQ+ Pride Session
Randi has been my guinea pig for me for a while now, so she had me choose the location for our shoot. I ended up choosing The Gateway due to all of the amazing murals, rainbow painted stairs and crosswalks, as well as its proximity to some nearby parks that make great photo session locations as well! I picked up a couple of Pride flags to use as props and add to the vibe that Randi was going for with her session.
The Gateway was PACKED (unsurprisingly) which made getting photos of just Randi a bit interesting. We started off over at the crosswalks waiting for just the right moment to grab photos of her skipping across making for some of the most fun pictures I’ve taken! I love how The Gateway has a few different crosswalks to use depending on which you like best, and which is the least busy.
Once Randi asked me about this session I knew I wanted to incorporate some Pride flags into the session somehow. She brought her own bi flag to use and I grabbed a couple of flags to incorporate into my client closet. I loved how colorful these photos are between the rainbow stairs and the flags we used!
To Randi, thank you so much for trusting me enough to take these photos for you! Your family is so sweet, and it was great getting to know you guys better. I can’t wait to see you all continue to grow together!
Enjoy this little peek into this beautiful coming out session!
