Teresa & Isaac are engaged!
I’m so excited to share this engagement session with you at the International Peace Gardens in Salt Lake! When Teresa reached out to me about photographing their wedding I wanted to make sure we were a good fit. Before agreeing to photograph one of the biggest days of their lives I wanted to make sure I could make their vision a reality. After meeting with her, I just couldn’t wait to work with them! You can tell how much they love each other just by looking at them.
Engagement Session at the International Peace Gardens
The lighting was absolutely perfect for this session, we had true “Golden Hour” lighting. Golden hour is often referred to as the hour after sunrise and before sunset to make things easy, but what most people don’t know is true golden hour only happens when the sun’s rays pass through the Earth’s atmosphere in such a way to color the light giving it a golden color; this most frequently happens an hour after sunrise and an hour before sunset. As I’m sure you can guess there’s a few different things that can affect the coloring of the light so I was especially excited when we had such gorgeous lighting for this session!
Engagements and couples sessions are some of my absolute favorite things I photograph. There’s just something so special about photographing two people in love and capturing that in a photo. You can feel how much Isaac and Teresa love each other in their pictures!
Teresa wanted an “outdoorsy, gardeny” area for their engagements and chose the International Peace Gardens because of the variety it provides. I’ve come here several times personally to walk around, and each time I’ve visited I’ve imagined how perfect it would be for a session! There are so many little gardens spread throughout the area themed around the native plants of various countries around the world. Between all of the plants, benches, terraces, and walkways this is such an amazing place to explore in addition to being a great photo spot. I absolutely loved having a session here and can’t wait for future sessions here!
One of my favorite parts of this session is when Isaac suggested grabbing some photos in front of this tree. He hadn’t provided much input up until that point, so I wanted to make sure he got any photos he wanted from their session! I had them practice their first dance in front of the tree which made for some adorable candid photos.
To the Gonzalez Family, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph one of the biggest days of your life!! Your love is infectious, and it was great getting to know you guys better. I can’t wait to see you all continue to grow together!
Enjoy this little peek into this sweet Engagement Session!
